Spreader Replacement

I knew I should have done this last Summer when I had Dixie out of the water, but... Anyway, this last Saturday, during a local race, our port spreader snapped (decomposed is probably the real story). Yes, they are old and wooden. Does anyone remember the website that was shared last fall about a group in Oregon, if I recall, that sells Catalina parts and has a metal spreader kit? Also, has anyone ever replaced the spreaders (one at a time) while the mast was up and they went up the mast? If any of you have any other words of experience in this area, let us know. By the way, we did manage to save the mast and win the scrub brush award for last to finish. Thanks.

Catalina

I believe you can contact Catalina's parts department for those. You can either fill out the form on their website or call them at 818/884-7700. They would also be able to give you valuable help on installing them. LaDonna

C22

I think you are remembering CatalinaDirect.Com, which caters to C22 owners. they have a spreader kit for the C22. I would also suggest going directly to the factory. Good Luck.

Thanks

Thanks LaDonna and Tom for your thoughts. The other company that I was thinking of is JSI, whom I called today but could only leave a message for the person to call me back. I'll call Catalina tomorrow. Rod

JSI

From what I've read, the JSI spreaders are made to fit the existing fittings. Catalina's requires new fittings and compression post inside the mast. That means that the JSI installation can be done with the mast in place, while the Catalina replacement is done with the mast removed from the boat. Let us know what you do. I still have the wooden spreaders which seem to be sound but keep thinking about going the JSI route.
