We have a 1990 Hunter 27. We have a port spreader that broke off. I went up the mast and looked. Here are the pics.
The forward hole that the bolt goes through is partial broken off. We were able to re attach the spreader and tighten down the stay but I wanted to see if the metal used to make the mounting bracket is weldable or if anyone has another solution. Replacing the entire bracket will be a total pain since the lower stay attaches to it. We took it back out after the fix and tested it. It worked fine but I want a permanent fix. Thanks

The Hunter 27 that you have if recollection from memory tells me is pot metal. Forget about welding it. I would replace that. Your mast came from Z Spar but the U.S. Spar product is the same as Z Spar both companies owned by the two fellows in france. This site can get that part for you.
