i bought an 85 Sirius 21 and found a spreader end was broken. then end cap was fine i just needed the inserted pc. i already had a bench lathe and bought a 12" pc of nylon off of Amazon for $10. an hour later I had one. just recently i saw on a Macgreggor site they show some for $16 that look to be the same. i do enjoy making my own though

Great job, and thanks for the pics! Being able to make replacements for the boat is very satisfying, especially these days, isn't it? I've found having a small lathe (Southbend 9") useful for making replacement sheaves, which suffer in our Arizona dry heat.

I found Mcmaster-Carr has a variety of materials and also stainless steel hardware.
