I have a 1994 Hunter 23.5. This year in May, the spreader bracket made of cast aluminum that is bolted to the main mast had broken. I took the broken bracket to Tidewater Marine in Havre de Grace, MD and I was told that the bracket had to be order from France and it would take about a month. I was surprised to learn that the brakcet had to be ordered outside the U.S. because Hunter sailboats are made in Florida. Nevertheless, it has been two months and no bracket. The word I received from Tidewater is that, there is a custom problem. Today (Monday, July 30), I cancelled the order and decided to have the bracket made by a machine shop in stainless steel. At this point, I need help from anyone out there who can be of help in terms of suggestions as to where this bracket can be duplicated. My sailboat is homeported in Rehoboth, DE but I live in York, PA. Therefore, I am willing to travel a 200-mile radius into DE, MD, NJ, PA, and VA to have this bracket made.Thank you for your attention.
