Ross, Your mast is not stable, and be
careful when you drop it. I would drop it soon. There are two ways to connect the shroud to the end of the spreader. remember that you don't want to secure it, just keep it in the groove. I would drop the mast a see how the other side was done.Method #1: about 10" piece of stainless rigging wire through the hole in the spreader with one side , cross over and then back through the hole on the other side. Then with the other tail, cross over and through the hole in the other side. Repeat this two or three times then gentley twist the ends and tuck behind so that if the boot comes off that the wire end doesn't tear he sail. Method #2: use about a 10" piece of a larger diameter wire, put it throught the spreader hole and on the shroud below the spreader wrap the wire arond the shroud about 8 or 10 times, then trim the excess. The do the same above the spreader. This will allow te shroud to pass through the wraps and allow the spreader to position itself. If you try to secure the spreader to the shroud, the spreader can not locate itself and it will add stress to the spreader.Chris, Sorry, the boat is 1 hour away. If I get there this weekend I will check.r.w.landau
