Boot 'em up
I purchased a blister pack of two of the large white spreader boots. Cut one exactly in half (up and down) and bend the two small ends around the spreader. They will be going toward the mast. Tape it down and you are all set. This is especially economical since you have another set to in five years when this set wears out. Or you can use the other one for the top spreaders.
