spreader boots

I am a new owner of a '78. The boot has come off of the end of the spreader and the shroud is loose. I think my options are to lower the mast, go aloft, or hire a rigger. What is the best pick for a novice?thank you

I would not sail the boat until all the shrouds

are connected and tensioned in their place and to the tension recommended by Hunter Marine. (call Greg and he will give you the spec.s) The mast on your boat is probably stepped on the cabin top and can reasonably be lowered and raised. Check with your owners manual of obtain one from Hunter Marine. Without all the mast shrouds attached and tight, to climb the mast will only result in, near if not, fatal injuries.Raysv Speedy
