I just purchased a 1997 Cat 22. The portside spreader was missing 1of the 2 one inch bolts holding the spreader connector to the mast. I purchased new bolts. The one that was missing has no receiving part in the mast to tighten the bolt to. Does anyone know what is inside the mast this bolt connects to and how to resolve this dilemma? It is amazing the spreader (shrouds, and mast) are all dependent on these 2 bolts. Thank you for your advise.

I'd talk to either Catalina Direct in California, or Catalina Yachts in Florida. Or both. One or both of them should have an answer for you. You're only two hours away from the Catalina factory in Largo, if you like to get face to face.
Thank you for the suggestion. I plan to try to view and take pictures tomorrow using an endoscopic camera.
