We have an O'day 26 with spreaders that have a slight downward angle (from the mast to the shrouds). Is this correct? The rivoted brackets that mount the spreaders to the mast look like they were manufactured this way. The cause for my concern is that I watched the Brion Toss "Inspecting Your Rig" video, where he says spreaders should either be straight or angled slightly upward. Any thoughts?

.....the spreader should bisect the angle of the shroud. That would result in a alight upward angle. How are the shrouds attached at the end of the spreader? Is there anything that prevents the spreader tips from slipping down?

Without looking mine tilt aft and are level or slight up. Also, mine move on the stays, there are no stoppers. Only tension keeps them where they are. Ed K 26
