Something has gone haywire with my SPOT. I probably won't replace it immediately since I'm going to be staying local and focusing on land activities again. I'll let you all know if I get it working or buy another one again.

Oh Lerd! Keep us posted on the diagnosis of the malfunction Roger. I have been considering a Spot just for the fun of it. And don't need another electronic paperweight.
Don't worry. They are very reliable from everything I've heard. I've used mine a long time and dropped it a few times. I can't recommend them highly enough.
I've got other fish to fry right now, like a frozen bilge pump line.
