So I got a good deal on some 3/8 Samson XLS extra for a replacement main halyard. The only problem is I can't find anyone to splice it. It looks pretty easy per the samson website but the main halyard seems too important for a hack job. Any ideas/phone numbers? How much should I expect to pay? Rich

Rich, where did you find a deal?? Defender has the Samson XLS Extra T for $1.10/ft. and that's what I'm going to use on my 28 this season (as soon as I get off my ass and buy it)

I learned how last night, I blew the first one then nailed 5 with the halyard as the last. Get a 4 dollar fid and learn something every sailor should know.

Use my Super Magic Splicing Tool I posted on this web site years ago. Do a search and maybe you will find it. Way better than any store bought version and I have done hundreds of splices. It might cost you a metal coat hanger in the process assuming you already have a pair of pliers. You will also need scissors and some masking tape. Dave
