Spinnaker/Whisker Poles

Hi all.

I own Mer-Sea Beaucoup, a great 376. She came without either a spinnaker nor gear.

I want to buy a pole for use downwind, with the jib and with a spinnaker, which is in our future.

My research into poles indicates that West Marine and Defender are incredibly proud of a few feet of tubing and a couple of aluminum castings, 2 stainless steel springs and pins.

I know, it's a boat and I'm whining, but really!

Anyway, the real question is what pole is best bought for the uses I intend?

And, which spinnaker pole ring is best suited to my mast?

Lastly, will a fixed ring work for the jib and spinnaker, or should I install a traveler?

Thanks.

You can buy the tubing, ends, and kits separately:

You can get away with a fixed ring, but in my opinion a track is much better.

Fixed poles are OK, but an adjustable whisker pole is much more versatile.

Don't worry if the item says "out of stock", they mostly drop ship directly from Selden or Forespar

Dave,
Thank you. I will go with a track, as you suggest. The price of parts (kits) versus an assembled pole will dictate my purchase.
Fair Winds.

Dave,
Aha! Thank you for all of the options. Couldn't view them on my iPhone.
You really went out of your way.
Very best regards,
