Hi Joe, thanks for the tip on Tom's book...
until I pick up a copy I need to confirm a few things. I just bought a used asym with a dousing sock for our P42. It came from a sister boat. 1. I intend to run the tack sheet through a turning block mounted on the bow roller then back to a single block with becket and cam mounted on the bow toe rail, which should give me some trim flexibility. I'm debating whether to run it back to the cockpit instead. Any advantage, since I solo quite often?2. Port and starboard clew sheets will run back to turning blocks with beckets mounted on the stern toe rail, then to the genoa winches to manage tack changes. 3. The halyard will run down to a cleat on the mast, or I might run it back into the cockpit, but I'm told that really is not necessary especially with the tack cam. Is there any advantage to having a swiveled snap shackle at the head, or will a knot do just as well?I need to look in the archives for asym trim tips. I'm anxious to try it out.Terry2.
