spinnaker size for 89 hunter 30

This last fall I purchased a 1989 Hunter 30. I found a few used spinnakers for sale but I'm not sure if they would work on my boat. One is about 38 1/2 feet tall and about 21 feet wide at the foot. The other is an A symetrical about 32 feet high and 21 feet at the foot.What do you think? Steve

rule of thumb

A general rule of thumb for Asymetrical spinnakers is your "I" measurement (36'-10" in your case) plus or minus 8 percent. So you are talking 34-40 feet for a spinnaker luff, 34 being conservative and 40 being more radical. I myself would tend not to exceed the forestay length on a cruising yacht, for ease of handling, but its your boat.
