Spinnaker Identification help

As part of my preparing for flying my Asymmetrical Spinnaker for the first time this sailing season, I decided to bring the sail into the house and have a look at it. I wanted to see what I had, check it out for damage, sheets etc...heck I didn't even know what colors she carried.

When I opened the sail bag, to my surprise, the sail was nicely tucked into a dousing sock! Awesome. All the sheets look brand new as does the sock. I didn't take the sail out of the sock but I think a see a lot of blue and white.

The name on the sail bag is says Neil Pryde Sails and in large capital letters SPANKER. What does that mean?

Anybody know if this is an asymmetrical spinnaker as I was told it was when I bought the boat.

Shanker; if that spinnaker becomes overwhelming and you think it then needs a new home, my boat is already rigged for it and would like the extra down wind pull.

I've attached some pics of what I have.

Don't understand why two attachment points at the tack. It also came with two 36' sheets with plastic clasps on them. One is red and one is green. That I get.

-the blue and white sheet goes up to the top clasp for the up haul (spinnaker sheet).
-the thin sheet (at the top in the third pic) is for the chute.
-not sure what the long white coiled sheet is for (at the bottom in the pic). It's about 36' as well. It goes through the main shackle and to the second attachment point at the tack.

The web site said this is a pole less spanker?

Any idea how to set this puppy up?

I believe the "long white coiled sheet" is an adjustable tack line. Regarding the "two attachment points", I use the snap shackle to attach my parrel beads, and the beads ride up and down my furled headsail.

Do you have a swivelling block above/ahead of your forestay to haul it all up?

You may have a "blooper" spinnaker. I believe they were also called spankers. In the IOR days the main was cut very small, and in downwind racing a extra spinnaker could be set up on the leward side to give extra sail area. Put it up the mast to see. If it is a blooper, you can tell by the odd cut - thin on top and wide at the tack and clew. With today's fuller mains, it has fallen out of use.

However, this was way before the use of socks, so maybe Neil Pride was using the term spanker out of a sense of honoring an older tradition??
