Spinnaker halyard in furling mast

i am going to run a halyard into the slotted opening in my mast that is marked as spinnaker. the pull line is not moving freely. i have not been to the top of the mast but thinking possibly the pull cord is off the pulley possibly. when i look inside the mast i do not see the furled sail in the way of the pull cord but of course i can only see a short distance.
anyone have any experience with this endeavor please.

the halyards run up and down their own independent channel in the mast.... seperate from the space the sail furls in.... so they will not interfer with each other. My guess would be you first thought it is off the roller and stuck or in some cases I have seen them knotted on the ends to keep them from accidently getting pulled into the mast...sounds like you may be climbing your mast ...good luck.

When the first mast for in mast furling was designed, the extrusion was extruded with an inner curved wall to keep wires and lines separated from the furler and sail.
What size line are you using for the halyard?
Can the sheave in the turning block have broken? Has the furling line being held fast by a jammed or inoperable jam cleat. Before climbing take binoculars and look up

So do you have both ends of the messenger line at the base of the mast? I ran a spin halyard on our h36. On the bottom of the mast, the messenger line that exited the slot was tied to a cleat on the mast. But at the top, the messenger line exited the mast over the spin halyard sheeve and was tied off to the spin halyard retainer a few inches below the sheeve. Using binoculars is a good idea. I lay flat on my back on deck and look up since my neck doesn’t bend so well anymore.

Exactly the same setup on my 2009 H26 for the messenger lines. I had a spin halyard installed by a rigger last year, and that's precisely what he found.
