I am thinking about buying a spinnaker for my 376. Should I go for assymetric cruising spinnaker and no pole? Would I be competitive racing? Is anyone using a radial spinnaker with a pole on a 376? I would appreciate your thoughts. Thanks.

Check out my Doyle post

Steve, heck out the post i put on the Doyle reps section here at HOW. It hasn't been answered yet, but lets see what he says about their new UPS sail. It's advertised in all the mags this month and appears to be an easier solution than either an a-spinakker or a genakker. We'll see what they have to say about how the'd behave on the new B&R rigged hunters. I have a 380 and am considering the same kind on sails you are. BTW from racing experience I'd use a pole even if you don't have to. It makes sail control much easier and stops the constant sagging and filling to the apparent wind change. guess who?

No new sail, please!

Enjoy your boat, save your money- or buy your wife some jewelry instead.

Being a trained Detective, I'm gonna make a bold prediction here Steve. You'll never own a spinnaker and your wife is about to get some nice jewelry :))))))) Maybe next year! Bob Knott H380

I hear that...

...a cringle of a new spinnaker makes an excellent ring or necklace pendant. Buy the sail, and you and your wife will both get something out of it! :)
