Spinnaker

Yes it is possible. There is a turnign block just above the forestay attachment wwhich t run the spinnaker halyard. You will be able to run the line to the cockpit. As for the spinnaker, an A symmetrical is a good one and of course the How store is good place to go to. Crazy Dave Condon

Spinthrifter

I believe the Spinthrifter is the type of assymetrical to fly on a 24-25 Hunter. It works great and will give you better propulsion on a deep broad reach. Also makes everyone jealous that you have one and know how to fly it.

Flying a cruising chute

I've had my cruising chute for a couple of seasons now. One thing I have found is that in light wind 0-5 knots you will get more boat speed by reefing the main or droping it while flying the chute. The large roach main found on the 240's and 260's when hoisted all the way up in light conditions blocks a large portion of the air that feeds the chute. In 10-12 knots with a full main on a broad reach it is a blast. Install it and have fun.

240 spinnaker

I'm sure you could get a doyle APC for the 240/260, contact doylesails.com or look on the HOW site-they sell doyle sails, too.

We fly both asymetrical and symetrical . . .

We use both asym and symetrical spinnakers on our 23.5. The symetrical is used primarily when we are racing . . .the asym when cruising or reaching in really light air. The boat design prohibits a large genoa . . .so we haul our the spinnakers if conditions are right. The rigging is relatively simple compared to sail handleing and the team work required to keep the sails set . . .
