The specification listed here on the forum show that the mast for the 222 O'Day is 34' 10" tall. There is a spinnaker available to me that is 33' tall. My rig is a 7/8 ths fractional and has the halyard at the very top. To my way of thinking this spinnaker drifter should work. Any comments??

34' 10" sounds more like bridge clearance
I don't think the mast length for the 222 can be almost 35 feet. That would mean that the mast would overhang the boat 6 1/2 ft. on either end when trailering. My guess is that the 34'10" dimension represents the height of the mast above the waterline when the boat is in the water, the mast alone is probably about 5-6 feet shorter than that.

I just bought this boat this spring and I'm still learning.. Now that I think about it Dave makes the most sense because the spar didn't hang over the bow and stern six foot. more like two or three. I do know the spinnaker was made for a 25ft boat of some kind and it is 33' tall. I think now that it maybe just to tall for my 222 O'Day. I'm thinking because I haven't owned a sail boat in 50 years that I'd buy a used spinnaker to practice with and that way if I tear it,, not a huge loss. Does anyone have a spinnaker for a 222 and if so how tall is it? Probably shoulda asked this question in the first place.
