I am looking to purchase a spinnaker but all the e-mail inquiry forms ask for measurements And I have not got the foggiest idea what they are talking about. Has anybody got a diagram that explains what it all means? Incidentally my boat is a beneteau 331 if any body has the measurements for it I would be grateful.

One method.

Many of the sail loft sites have charts with the dimensions for most boats. I like Sailrite. Use the Link below, then select "Sail Kit Pricing", enter your boat make(Beneteau) and length, and you will see several to select from. The 331 is not there so pick something close like the "First 10". You will see a chart that gives dimensions for all the sails. What I saw there, for example, for a 728 sq. foot spinnaker: Stay=39.67', Foot=21.6', Midgirth=21.6'

Contact a major sail company..

..they most probably will have your boat-and rig- measurments in their computer , if it is the standard unchanged rig for this boat; and they can advise various cuts and materials. That's how I bought my assymetrical one.
