I'm looking to add a spinaker to my sail inventory but i'm not sure what the proper dimentions should be for a H34 with a 51ft stick,if someone could enlighten me I would appreciate it very much.

spinnaker dimensions

Brent, if your spinnaker is the standard symmetrical, it should be @ 46'11" on the luff and leach, and 24' 9" at the mid girth. The standard formula for the luff is: the sum of "I" squared + "J" squared, (2437.7) take that square root,(49.37) multiply that by .95 (46.90') The girth is 1.8 times the "J" or 1.8x13.75 = 24.75' the standard pole length is the "J" dimension. Hope this helps, Mark.

Its not a 51 ft stick

51 represents the height above the waterline and has no bearing on any of the sails. your stick is 46 feet and it is the J, I, P, E dimenstions that dictate the calculations for legal racing sails or cruising sails that will perform well for your specific needs as discussed with your sailmaker.
