Lewmar Hatches
I took delivery of a new H460 4 1/2 years ago and after the first two yearsall the hatches were bad. The boat has been in Newport Beach and wellmaintained and nothing other than boat soap, water and cloth has touchedthe hatches. Having about 6,000 dollars worth of Lewmar hatches, I calledLewmar and shared my concern. I was told that the hatches were our ofwarranty and the spidering, crazing and clouding was not unexpected aftertwo years. They sold me replacement lensesfor each hatch at their costwhich was around $600. I replaced each hatch lens which requires manyhours of labor for the entire job. Its now been a little over two years andabout half the hatches are going bad. Ultimately, i plan on having a localplastic company make my lenses. I would never buy a Lewmar hatch.
