Spider droppings on sails

How big are your spiders that you have to use a special product to clean up their poop. I must lead a sheltered life because I can't imagine that spiders can create such a mess. Just curious.

I live upstate New York and we have a lot of little suckers that like to live around lights and whatever the heck they eat leaves little black dots wherever it lands.
Including boat decks and house siding I’ve tried presser washing and every thing from bleach to that green cleaner they sell at the big box store and no luck. I’m thinking maybe a dibbiting torch!

Hey Ted...

Comeondown! Here on the Chesapeake we got spiders as big as your thumb just hangin' about ready to take you on, best out of three falls and they get the boat!

Spider Away hasn't proved to be very effective. Nor has dryer sheets. Home Defense is the choice for long term control on our docks. A can of Raid and a flashlight at night is my SOP for all boarders with eight legs!

Stuff called "Awesom" from the Dollar General Store does a very good job of cleaning up the spider (looks like little black polka dots) and bird guano.

Thanx All.....I had much fewer spiders (some as big as a 1/4" across) after I installed two 120 Volt fans in the cabin; I was told they do not like the frequency (sic).

Then for a couple weeks I was not at my boat and some !$^*(*% unplugged my shore power and I was loaded with spiders.

They've now gotten a foothold and yeah, I gotta wrestle 'em to get into the head. Jim Huhta

I don't have a recommendation for cleaning the sails but I recently bought a very good spider killing spray from Menards that has kicked them all off the boat. Apparently the spray stays around for a few weeks too so a quick spray once a month in summer should see me, finally, with a spider poop free boat. JG.

Totally Awesom from Dollar General

Inexpensive cleaner for spider droppings. $1.00 per spray bottle and $3.00 for large refill. Spray on, leave for a minute, rinse with fresh water! All gone.

Spider killer name

Sorry Steve. I figured when I wrote it that somebody would be asking for the name of the darned stuff but I didn't have the can by me and couldn't for the life of me remember the name. It might come as a surprise to many but that can happen to you at 78 ! I nipped down to the boat tonight and the can is right here by my computer as I write. It's a pretty descriptive title. "Ant, Roach & Spider Killer" It's effect is said to last six weeks. The can is green with a black top. If you don't find it at Menards, try Ace Hardware, they have it too. It works like a charm. JG.
