Some articles were talking about Sperm Whales in the northern gulf coast. Supposedly they hang out in deep water >600' at the edge of the shelf. Anyone with any whale stories??? My brother had a whale type unknown swim under his boat near the keys. He said that the water was clear and it was clearly much larger than his Island Packet 27. Said that it swam directly under the boat!!! If I had a even a slim chance of seeing a whale I'd sail out of Mobile and just sail around for a couple days at the edge of the deep water. Maybe troll a hook for something a lot smaller.
