Speed under power - 310

I am considering a used Beneteau 310 (1991) and am wondering about the Volvo diesel engine. How much speed can this boat make under power and is the engine big enough for most conditions? Thanks for your comments, John

310 with Yanmar

I have a 99 Beneteau 310 with a 18 HP Yanmar turning a 2 blade prop. Plenty of power against wind and waves, 6 knots on flat water. I would think a similar size Volve would be fine. My only complaint is no tach.

I have a 94 Ben. with a Volvo 2002, 18 H.P.It has plenty of power in all conditions
