My H320 was so slow that I sent the transducer to Raymarine to check it. Turned out defective so they sold me a new one. Still showing only 3-4 knots tops, which lags GPS at 5-8. Does anyone else have this problem... and a solution?How on earth does one access the oil filter to get it off, by removing the steps entirely? I had to become a contortionist to get the oil pumped out. Thanks.

Could you be mounting it backwards?

Could it be mounted too close to something under the hull?Remove it and blow on the paddle wheel...does it read higher?About the oil and filter... you gotta do what you gotta do.

Oil change

Buy an electric drill pump with a dipstick pump out tube or make one up from a piece of 1/4 ID clear plastic flexible tubing about 3' long; insert a smaller 1/4+" OD 10" long copper or aluminum tube into the plastic tube so you can move it around inside the dipstick opening to get to the bottom corners of the oil pan. You might want to first try a couple different size drinking straws to see what fits into the dipstck opening. Obviously the other end of the drill pump (or manual pump) needs to be set up to empty into a disposal container. Remember also that the oil filter is full of oil and keep a pie tin or drip pan under it when you remove it to help dispose of the oil properly. Read the engine manual on the proper amount and type of oil for refilling as you can cause serrious problems by overfilling the crankcase.
