Shown here is the speed and depth indicator on my 23.5. From my experience so far, it does neither. I assume this was original equipment so it's 20years old. Any thoughts on the Autohelm device? I really want a speed indicator and definitively a depth alarm. And watching fish and god knows what all, swim under me in the Oakland Estuary on a monitor might be fun.

The display working is 95% of the battle on those old things. That fact that they read 0.0 is also good, most likely the transducers are not hooked up, or bad. The speedo is an easy swap-out. The depth, not so much. First check your wires.

I have that bidata unit on my '98 H240. For the speed, check to make sure the paddlewheel sending unit is installed in the hull. Mine has a plastic filler plug that you swap with the paddlewheel transducer when you are painting or pressure-washing the hull to avoid damage. They can be changed from inside the hull while in the water- just be fast to minimize the amount of water that gushes in. And grease the O-ring seals with some silicone grease before installing.
