Just a heads-up that I'll be at the Thetis Island event Saturday, June 7th. I look forward to meeting many of you BC guys that day!

Sounds like they're expecting a big crowd.

I attended last year but it seemed like it was mostly recent customers of Specialty Yachts that were there. My buddy and I own a 1986 Hunter 34 and we felt a little out of place. At the time I said to him that the event made me feel young and my boat feel old. The organizers seemed to be giving us that "what are you doing here?" look. It's probably all filled up by now anyway but what are your thoughts on this?

I haven't been before so I can't comment on who will be there, but I'd be shocked if you were getting the "what are you doing here?" look. The Specialty Yachts folks seem to be really nice people, and even on business grounds, why would they want to make a potential customer feel unwelcome? ;)

FWIW, they were still taking registrations as of a couple days ago.

I'll report back after the event, but I'm sure you'd be completely welcome there.

Make sure you wear a pirate's hat and scarf. Hardy har har.

I use to and still have my beanie weenie propeller hat but with my weight, doubt that will lift me up other than some rum or some of that old moonshine I still have.
Have fun sir. Wish I could be there. Oh, do have fun or you will be walking the plank!

The event was a blast with 76 boats attending. Thank you Specialty Yachts , Marlow Hunter, Telegraph Harbor Marina ( Ron and Tara) and thank you Lawrence Fronczek!!
This is the best Hunter Rendezvous in the world!! Believe it!! Next year we celebrate the 25th Hunter Rendezvous. The great weather certainly added to the festivities!
No one cares about the age of your boat- quite frankly the older the better. Great conversation pieces.
