What, what so special about a measuring tape? Is it cheaper because it has no numbers? You just need to mark on it with a pencil. I usually keep a piece of string handy for measuring , but this is high tech.

I am pretty good at estimating inches but don't think I would trust guestimating in feet. I think Catalina used that tape measure when they designed our bilge cover....48-3/8":doh:

Agree with Benny

this is a great item! I can just mark the length in pencile and transfer it over to my work. No need to bother with those noisum inches and fractions. Course you would have to take it to the store to make sure the pipe you buy will work.

BTW, April Fool's Day saw this fool go for his first sail of the season! No foolin'. Great to be back on the water and hope you all are sailing, too....

Ready to sail

Well Im glad you Chesapeake guys are ready to sail. Im going to climb up on my boat today and pump it out, the Ice should have melted by now. This weekend Im going to start on the bottom. No hurry plenty of time at least another month before going in.

My boat is ready but I ain't. Gonna be a couple of months yet before we splash.

Without all those llines on the Tape how am I ever going to measure correctly. You know, I'm so used to counting how many little lines it is just past that medium little line but 2 before the next large line....

No joke here ,but we had a master sargent come into the welding shop when I was in the Air Force and ask for a ruler. So someone handed him a 12 inch steel scale. He looked at it and asked if we had one that didn't have so many marks on it.
