Where would I locate the holding tank on my Hunter 376? Is it up thru a stanchion, or outboard thru the hull?? Thanks. Bob

Usually thru the hull.

Bob: I have not seen all of the possible places for tank vents, but Hunter usually uses a thru hull for the vent. Most of the newer ones have a clam cover.

in the hull

In the hull, on the port side, a few feet from the holding tank. Open the port lazarette and you will see the hose leading from the holding tank to the vent in the hull. Allan

Out a thru-hull.

If you run it into a stanchion, it'll cause you nothing but problems...'cuz the slit in the stanchion will clog up regularly...even when it's not clogged, there's so little air exhange that odor is inevitable. My advice: use a 1" vent line, which will require using a 1" thru-hull instead of a "vent fitting," and make the line as shot, straight and horizontal as possible.
