Has anyone noticed what Irene has done to our south facing trees? It looks like November up here in NE on the south side of deciduous trees. When you look at the north side, looks normal. Someone once told me it is the combination of wind and blowing salt which kills the leaves. We really only had about 50 kts with some higher gusts.
Speaking of Fall, has anyone noticed the leaves?

I was up in buzzards bay over labor day at a friend's cottage and we noticed the more exposed trees appeard to be dying. Leaves were all turning brown, not "pretty" fall brown (I prefer green myself), dead brown, and were shrivled up, while still attached to the branches.
