The granddaddy of all Hunter owner rendezvous (or is that the mother of all rendezvous?), none other than the Chesapeake Bay Rendezvous, has announced keynote speakers for the event to be held July 12-15 at Solomons, MD. Tom Neale and Ralph Naranjo from Cruising World magazine will headline the event. Tom Neale is perhaps sailing's designated humorist. Having cruised for nearly twenty years and raising his family en route, his honest and self-depreciating style make him a joy to read and one of the most popular nautical authors anywhere. Tom will be joined by Ralph Naranjo, another CW regular and widely considered among the most knowledgeable cruisers anywhere. Ralph is Boat of the Year judge and frequent reviewer, as well as popular author. You'll also meet none other than Peggie Hall, our own Head Mistress. Already slated for the event: Seminars, Dinghy Races, Maritime Museum Tour and children's activities. The Hunter Cup Race is held on Saturday. This is a fun event with a handicap start to avoid starting line conflicts. If you decide to come by land or don't want to race your boat, you can sign on with one of the boats looking for crew. The last rendezvous saw 100 boats and 300 people from MD, VA, PA, OH, NJ, NC, and FL! This year registrants are even coming from the Midwest! The early-bird discount deadline is looming so please use the link below to register.

Looks Great

Program looks great. Expecting the committee to provide great weather, too. Plan to attend, but can't get my H340 over the Corp of Engineer Dams . . . Anyone want to help move it from South Dakota to Solomons <grin>. I've got the trailer, but . . . .

Rendezvous with Style

The Chesapeake Hunter Owners Rendezvous this year promises to be even better than the widely acclaimed 1999 fete. This is a great opportunity to trade sea stories with like minded mates, but you also get great food, races, entertaining speakers and lots and lots more. Register early and bring your family. There will be activities for everyone! See you at Solomens.

Are you still trying to tow that thing?

Hi Jim: Saw your response about the rendezvous and it looked like a chance to say hi. Don't think I'll make it to Solomons this year in that I sold Proposal last year and am now begging rides on Wednesdays. Hope you are having a good spring! Mark

Even from Texas!

Debbie and I will be there having sailed Yaga around Florida in January. The Chesapeake Bay cruising has been super this spring and have seen a lot of Hunters out enjoying the cool weather and steady winds. We will be heading back to Kemah, Texas and the Galveston Bay right after the rendezvous. Hope to see other Hunter Owners in the Solomons and along our way back home.

Sorry to Miss You Mark

Yep, trailer is still holding up, though the welder erred on your proposed revision . . . in stead of more axles he added another set of pads. I thought I told him . . . . <grin>
