Spanish Virgin Islands

I am looking for any Recent experience with sailing Spanish virgins.. I realize the area is less built up as compared to the down islands we are more familiar with..that said are there any recent stops on Vieques or Culebra that offer fuel, water etc without hand carry back to boat?
Planning on two weeks or so in area. I realize if we were to run low St. Thomas is not too far albeit on the nose slog..

Just want to clear up a misconception that may be propagated by tourist brochures. There are no Spanish Virgin Islands. Vieques and Culebra are municipalities of Puerto Rico and are globally recognized as the Passage Islands. The Virging Island archipielago is comprised of the US and Brittish Virgin Islands. Vieques and Culebra are first class sailing destinations if you want to enjoy peace and quiet away from the rum bars, T-shirt shops, cruise ship herds and steel bands. There are no fancy marinas but that may be part of their charm. Hope you have a good time.

Right next to Vieques is Puerto Del Rey, not more than 5 miles on a reach from west Vieques, a full service marina. Make sure you go via the "Medio Mundo Passage" beautifull.

Legally correct, but the name has persisted in common culture, and it is still more commonly know as the SVI than the Passage Islands. I was looking at a chart down there last month and it had a reference to them as SVI, granted it was a few years out of date, but not that much so.


To the OP question, There are places to get provisions in Cuelbra, but Fajardo has much better options. Vieques also has most things, but it isn't close to a dinghy dock, you'll have to walk a ways.
