Just last year the National Research Council of Canada released a report indicating that climate change might make the Northern Passage more dangerous for commercial shipping in the Canadian Arctic, rather than less. check out the link:

Echo Gulf, It appears to me that a passage south of Resolute Island

would be the most feasible. But I can't get Nancy to sail out of the Bay yet so I guess that Canada is safe for the time being. ;D

You're missing the good food,

Gee that's to bad Ross, I know from experience that the stewed seal meat with fried onions found in that area is far superior to any other. I was thinking that if this Northwest Passage thing pans out I may open a string of restaurants specializing in seal meat, fish, and muktuk (whale blubber).;-) EG

Sounds good to me! I am very fond of crispy goose fat

and duck fat and bacon . Never have tasted a fresh fish that I didn't like and once you get the fur off meat is meat. ;D

North West Passage

I know a guy named Ed who, with another guy, sailed the North West passage in an 18 foot Hobie Cat. When they encountered frozen water they just towed the cat like a sled until they found open water again. I think it took two summers to make the entire trip.

admiring your photo

hey CharlieCobra, I was just admiring your picture & was wondering if you took that yourself. Looks pretty wild out there. I wouldn't have gone out either. Cheers
