I was just shampooing the carpet and when I moved a chair there was a copy of South Winds Magazine between it and the wall.

Then it occurred to me I have not seen it in a while. Is it still around?

I am going to make a stop at West Marine tomorrow just to see.

I used to pick up copies at West Marine & the marina office, then began to read it online. They stoped publishing at least a year or more. Used to enjoy reading as it had emphasis on Gulf Coast happenings. As the saying goes “ain’t there no more.”

That is what I thought. Everyone I talked to about it was surprised when they realized they had not seen it in a while. Seems to have just quietly slipped under with no notice.

I used to write for them and have been looking for some of my old articles? Anyone have any ideas of where the archives might be???

Moreover, the inquiry is just as relevant today as it was when first postulated.

This is all I have found so far with the best being University of South Florida. I encourage anyone that has copies to donate them to this vast archive. As soon as I find my boxes with a span of 2-3 years I still might be missing some copies? But will be donating my collection. Steve Morrell was my contact, unfortunately the phone number no longer works…sent an email also but doubtful it went through as the website is down and gone. It is still parked with go-daddy so someone still owns it. Plan on trying to get ahold of Dan and others to see if there is a backup of the website and or Digital formats or any other formats, print, anything. Also plan to look in the “way back machine” will update this post with any new information I acquire.
