South Louisiana guys,
In March, I'm transferring from Houston to South Central Louisiana, to the Lafayette area where I grew up. After spending the last 3 summers sailing Maine waters and winters sailing Houston waters, I'm struggling to find places in South Central LA for my trailerable sailboat, preferably a wet-slip, because I want to size-up to a 30+ footer.
New Orleans and Lake P is too far for me, so I'm looking at Vermillion Bay (Cypremont Point) and Lake Arthur, each of which have yacht clubs.
Question: I like the idea of sailing Vermillion Bay & Cypremont Point, but other than at the CP Yacht Club (who has a waiting list for wet-slips) does anybody know anywhere where one could keep a sailboat in a wet-slip on Vermillion Bay? If not, I might try Lake Arthur.
