What it is is.

It is Ultra High Molecular Density Plastic. Hunter uses it extensively on the H260: the base under the stern rail seat slats, rudder pivits, cup holder/top on the wheel steering. It is machineable with woodworking tools, virtually indestructable and cleans pretty well. I plan to use it in combination with some teak to make an instrument housing similar to a Navpod. I have spent a lot of money on stuff for boats, but I just can't see the price of Navpods. Also, mine should be more resilent. Regards, Joe

Find it!

Joe, Depending on how much you need, you can order it from McMaster Carr. They are an industrial supply hardware company. You will pay more for buying it from them then if you found a direct outlet. The price is still probably better than marine type products. They have a website. Anyone you might know in the mechanical trades should have access to them via an account. I think they will also sell to you direct. They have an on line catalog where you can browse via Adobe Acrobat. good luck, Mike DiMario Media, PA s/v Serenity H376
