Source for 1 1/8 SS Pipe?

Seems like

I think I have seen pieces of 1 and 1 1/8 tube at WM. I think if you only need a foot or so a good place to look would be someplace that makes biminis. Could be you could luck into a piece of scrap for free.

I can check at Industrial Metals for you in Sun Valley. They sell it cut sections for scrap prices. I was looking last year at some 1'' polished still in plastic 14' long that was going for a $1.65/lb. You're not that far from there it really is worth the trip for you besides if they have it and I tell you about it, it could be gone by the time you get there.

I've been going there since I was a kid, and it's still like a candy store.

Give it up. You won't find it like that. I've tried. However, look for spreader tubes on the riggers websites. There she'll be! How do I know? My spreaders are loose. Upon close inspection, the mounts are for 1 1/8" OD tube but the PO used 1" and a few wraps of tape. Go figure.

As far as I know, that's not a size that's normally manufactured (at least in S.S.) I hate to say it but you'll probably need to get a piece of bar stock and have someone with a lathe turn it down for you. Either that or you might be able find a hunk of stainless or Aquamet prop shafting. That is made in 1 1/8!
Call a local prop shop. Shafting is sold in various lengths then cut and keyed to fit the application. There's a chance they may have a scrap section.

There is a specialty metal shop I buy small pieces of aluminum and ss at in San Antonio. Are you looking for solid bar stock or a tube? What gage(wall thickness) are you looking for?
The guys I use won't be in till Monday.
If you are calling around looking, ask for 1-1/8" tube not pipe, if the OD of the piece you are looking for is 1-1/8". 1-1/8" pipe doesn't actually measure 1-1/8"outside diameter, it's larger.
