Has anyone soundproofed their inboard engine "room"
I have 26 Oday Yanmar 8hp and found this product
http://www.soundprooffoam.com/ultra-barrier-plus.html
I'm thinking of lining at the top of the engine area,
also known as the floor of the cockpit. Also, I'm thinking to
mount a shield mounted infront of the engine, see pic

leaning against the centerboard channel guide "post"
Then I'd line the port-side of the access panel.

Has anyone come close to soundproofing their noisy diesel?
Ideas welcomed.

I would check on what the recording industry uses for sound proofing their recording studios, and get some ideas from that. I don't blame you for not wanting to listen to an engine. I've been listening to them for years and when I go out on my sailboat, the only thing I want to hear is the wind in my sails, and the waves slapping up against my hull.
