I've got a friend looking at a boat that needs total restoration, she's solid and the price is right. The thing is we don't know what she is. He's negotiating with the marina owner who now has posession of the vessel. The make as heard through 4th person sounds like soul-burger ... bear in mind this is the deep south so who knows. The boat is 46' +/- overall with a teak bowsprit, elongated fin keel with cut away forefoot and attached rudder, ketch rigged, center cockpit. The decks are allegedly foam cored. Supposedly she was built in New Orleans by Robert something. Any ideas??

Is worth a thousand posts!. :0 That might help to post a photo. I think the closest in sound would be Sovereign.

Soling...mayby?

The name that came to mind in my southern drawl was ...Soling, I am not sure of the spelling. Of course you know that the Hull Identification (HIN) will probably help tremendously? Jack

Need to look all over for an ID plate.

Hi Patrick, if there is no HIN, then it was probably made prior to Nov, 1, 1972. There will probably be a plate somewhere that gives some sort of info on the boat. The majic is finding the plate(s), they could be hidden anywhere, look behind and under everthing in the boat. If you find a plate, give us the numbers and I'm sure someone on this site will be able to 'cifer' it for you. Jack

Whatever brand it may turn out to be...

...I think for sure you have a unique name picked out for it now ("Soul Burger")...
