The teak trim around the coaming compartment on my 1986 Cat 30 completely disintegrated. It came off in several pieces and several attempts to glue it back together failed.
This guy had a video about how to make anything look like wood:
So I bought the plastic trim from CD:
Used the stuff I had on hand from a patio furniture project and the technique from the video:
Glued the trim ring on with 3M 4200:
The result is not too bad:
The rest of the trim looks like this:
The faux wood trim ended up being a little darker because the stain I had was dark. Otherwise not too disappointing and a heckuva lot easier than fabricating teak trim.
