Solar Vents

I don't have any of these but I occasionally see them on boats or in marine stores. Thinking out loud here but why couldn't i install one of these on my truck? I mean I hate to leave windows cracked down, because it rains when I am not there to crank them up. I hate getting in the truck when it's been sitting in the sun.

Seems to me it would be cool to have a solar powered vent to keep cars a few degrees cooler when the inside temp hits a certain temperature. Like an automatic sunroof that tilts up and a small fan that engages. All run from solar. Typically once the clouds roll in, you wouldn't need it since its driven off indoor temp.

I don't know maybe it would make a lot of noise going down the highway.

If the sunlight can keep up with your truck, it should work well. But if you don't have something else open (like the holes in your companionway boards), there will not be so much airflow. Better, maybe, to put in two on the truck, one intake, the other exhaust.
