Hi rgranger, I have a similar set up. To eliminate the mast crutch I went down to a fencing outfit and asked them for a scrap piece of galvanized fence pole. They gave me two pieces at no charge. It fits perfectly into the hole where the crutch goes. I'll post some pics when I can but that may be a cheaper option for you.

On my fence pole I had to machine the end to accept my homemade bracket but you wouldn't have to do that.

That is a really nice design. You obviously have skills and that design is probably marketable.
But I'm wondering why not just use the mast crutch pole? This way my panel can still keep my batteries topped off while the boat sits on the trailer.
