Solar Generator versus 100Wh battery Prices

The Device the OP posted isn’t really marketed as a marine device, so I don’t fault it for not being a perfect fit for our needs.

I think the OP’s point was more about how this type of device compares in price to anything in the marine market. I think you would be hard pressed to find ~1000 watt hours of usable capacity, a 1000 watt inverter and an AC/DC compatible charger for the $600 this device currently sells for. This seems to be an off brand, but even the more name-brand Jackary equivalent is $1000. Even that’s probably less than the marine equivalent for that set of parts. The premium we pay is to make a system that does fit marine needs better, and there is value to that.

the "solar generator" stuff is not what you hope. It technically can recharge via solar, but it would take a LONG time to do so. Days.

In 2019 each 6 volt cost me $108.00 at Sam's Club, a total of $432.00
Yes, but they are hardly portable. A T105 weighs 62 lbs. ea. That is 124 lbs. plus 6-10 lbs. for an inverter and connectors or about 130 lbs. compared to 22lbs. for the lithium battery generator. If portability is a necessity the two 6V don't meet the requirements.

Same as calling it a portable extension cord which then could be sold in places that have banned motorized portable extension cords. You can get those on the Internet you know.

I don’t know if it’s exactly the perfect use case, but there is a timely use of a Jackary in the latest episode of MJ Sailing :) . 21:00 at
