I have a solar fan in my fore hatch cover. It has stopped running even with strong sun present.
The fan appears to want to run but at a very slow to no speed. It is usually running each time I vist boat last summer. On at sun rise and off at sunset. Its like having a built in alarm clock when spend nite aboard..lol
I understand there are some units with battery back up for alternate power. Where would the battery be located?
What is the cost for replacement, if that is an option, for battery or new solar fan. I dont have the brand name. The phyiscal size is about 5 inche diameter with estimate 4 inch fan.
Thanks guys in advace.

Sounds Like the Battery

Take it apart and slip in a new "C" battery. If that does it you can get a rechargeable replacement at Radio Shack.

Re: Sounds Like the Battery

Rick, I noticed you are with the Fort Walton Beach Yacht Club. Do you sail a 23.5? We spend January's at the El Matador at FWB. We sail a 23.5 in Kentucky.

Re: Sounds Like the Battery

Thanks Rick....I sailed on Table S Rock Lake in Branson Mo. last week for grandaughters B day party. She had freinds enjoy an overnight stay on board. It was great fun.
Hope to get to Ft Walton this falll for some sailing. I'm praying the oil spill never effects Ft Walton on any other Fl waters.

Gonna Be Ugly for a While

Hopefully it will just stick to the beach and not get into the bay.
