For info, an article today on the CNN web site said "Solar bursts may threaten GPS". According to the article, on December 6th there was a very strong solar flare that caused GPS reception difficulties. During this flare, some GPS receivers had reduced accuracy while others lost their signal completely.Solar activity runs in 11-year cycles and the next peak will be in 2011.
