Soft & cracked decks

We own a 1993 Passage 42. Our boat has developed small cracks in the area just above the mail salon to the port side of the mast. The spot where the cracks are is also soft. We would appreciate information from any owners who may have experienced similar problems.

1991 P42, but thanks for the tip. We've had ours three years and our surveyor at the time of purchase went over the entire boat with a moisture meter. If it were my boat I would hire a surveyor to determine the extent of moisture damage and possible sources of entry. From what you describe the culprit could be the port light. I would appreciate hearing back from you on this matter.Terry
