I have been in san diego a9 for the summer. I need to move at the end of the month. I was hopeing to go to the sea of cortez but I just don't have the time to get away right now. Is there any other places I can burn up some time in SoCal. I have also thought about ensanda. Does any one know if there is any spaces there and how safe it is to leave a boat there?
Thanks
Steve

Most of Catalina is limited to two weeks, at least in the Isthmus and Cat Harbor. I think you will find most anchorages are temporary. Not sure about Ensenada. You could call the Port Captain and inquire. I expect it is as safe as any. There is less open anchorage since the cruise terminal was built. You may want to check with Newport Harbor. As I recall, moorings are inexpensive and available for 30 days. Good luck.

Coral has a lot of vacancies and is likely to deal.

bandidos marina is less expensive then baja naval--baja naval is very spensive so is marina coral----bandidos and chueys are side by side and both are , imho, morecasual in appearance and less touristy than bn and mc.....gooood luck......

Where are bandidos and chueys? I cant find them on the net.
bandidos and chueys are not the real names of the places--those are the men who used to own the 2 marinas--they are small and just north of baja naval on the malecon...i think they are able to be found on google earth or google maps if you go to ensenada and zoom in.....very small marinas--should still be there---a friend just stayed in bandidos...the names are from the older days when the bandido owning the one marina and the chupaloma who owned the other.......(chupa loma=mud sucker!) i didnt name them--they came that way!! LOL---they wont be listed in the net--very small and informal....they are right there on the malecon and safe-----.
