--and your interior is carpet? Why not glue Velcro to the back of the picture frames? My sailboat was always missing something in the cabin. Hey I have pictures hanging in my house, so why not hang them in the cabin of my boat? On the port side I have the immortal words of Herman Melville at the beginning of Moby Dick, hanging in a frame. Then in the forward cabin, I have a nautical folk art scene by Carol Dyer. My art collection wouldn't be complete without a picture of Penelope.
OK,--so if you're not into hanging pictures, here's another wrinkle that can come in real handy for hanging your tide chart on your companionway bulkhead. Just take one of those cellophane page protectors and use the stick on type Velcro on the back of each corner and just press it into place against the bulkhead. Print out this month's tide schedule on one side of the paper, and next month's on the other side, and slide it into the cellophane. Your tide schedule will always be in a handy place for a quick glance. :)
