Trinkka,

I thought we were talking about backup eating plans. The MREs are for when the food gets scarce, or we forget something, or the trip gets unexpectedly extended. We pack all kinds of good stuff to eat and drink for the trip. A couple MREs and a couple gallons of water is a good backup. Call it a life jacket for my stomach. Of course it's also great to be able to say "Sure Hon, we can stay the night, we've got extra stuff to eat and drink."

That's a good point well taken. "A lifejacket for my stomach." I'll have to remember that one. :D You're right though. It's always a great idea to have backup food on board and I keep plenty of that in plastic containers under my settees.
